What's the Importance of the Coffee Cup?

They are important for more reasons than just the presentation.

I’m sure that you’ve noticed the huge difference between a home-made coffee cup and a store made one. The density, the strength of the flavor and, of course, the feeling of each cup. But did you know that among the things that differentiate the flavor of the coffee you buy at your favorite store, the cups that hold the beverage also play a significant role? For that reason, we’re going to tell you how the shape and material of the cups affect the way you enjoy the coffee you're drinking.

As you surely know, the soft shape curve under the cups of coffee wasn't made so that it can have a lovely look. The design and size matter for a practical reason: they allow the perfect experience for the flavor of each cup. Think of how you perceive coffee when you taste it: you drink it, but your other senses are involved too. The flavors you taste are often intertwined with the rest of the characteristics of the product, such as coloring.

For example, did you know that the flavor of a coffee cup it’s directly influenced by the color of the mugs? Sounds strange, but the contrast between black and brown in coffee against a white cup increases the perceived strength of the coffee. The perception of sweetness it’s also influenced by the coffee cups because our brain picks up subtle cues from the coffee itself: glass cups are often related to sweets, and as such, the previous perception of the flavor it’s related to a mellow flavor.

Sizes and shapes also matter as the curves under the cups are not just a direction or an aesthetic choice. As you know, most professional coffee methods drip coffee in it during or shortly after the brewing. The hot liquid requires care to maintain its aromatic characteristics to have the perfect flavor, and the soft shape of the bottom of each coffee cup allows the liquid to retain its characteristics while pouring it in. Your regular coffee cups will be smallish, and normally not many of the professionally served mugs will be higher than 2”, with a circumference of 2 ¼”. As with the underside shape, this is done to generate a heightened perception of the aromatic characteristics of each cup.

When it comes to coffee, shape, and flavor are deeply intertwined. Coffland Corp knows that more than creating perfect flavors for your cups, you’ll need to have perfect coffee beans and grinds to reach the perfection point you need in your coffee. The Most Common Brewing Methods

Each method enhances different parts of the coffee flavor.

Coffee brewing has been a key part of the human rituals for quite some time. Discoveries have shown that ever since it’s neuro-stimulant and medicinal properties were found, it became part of the traditions of many cultures. Whether served as a cure or simply as a social ritual, coffee has been an integral part of the history of humankind. Along the way, many cultures and specialists have selected methods, creating an ever expanding list of methods to create unique cups. But some of them are the most frequent, and today you’ll learn about the ones that you might have seen on your touring for different coffee shops.

Espresso Machines

This is the most recognized method for coffee brewing around the world. Who doesn’t remember looking at these machines behind the worktops of coffee shops and stands? The method that these machines use is simple: they pass water at high pressure through the coffee grind, then through a specially attuned filter. Each machine model has unique qualities, and they are paired with professionally designed burr grinders.

They take between 20 to 30 seconds to make a cup of coffee, for the pressure and the grind of the coffee beans. The resulting product is strong in flavor, and often requires a specialized skill set as the process is science. The downside? It's almost completely restricted to 2 cups per serving.

Chemex

The chemex is one of the first steps into the connoisseur realm of coffee making methods. While simple and effective, there’s a complex thing about Chemex method: it requires care in the elements that make each cup. The coarseness of the grind, and the quality and temperature of the water as well as the time and method of pouring it, play a vital role in the coffee brewing process.

It takes 3 to 4 minutes to brew up to 5 cups of excellent coffee. As with the espresso, practice makes the master: it’s not simple to make coffee in a Chemex without certain technique, but once you master it, prepare yourself to be amazed!

Moka Pot

One of the most frequent home brewing methods. This is simple and quick to make strong flavored cups. As it’s inexpensive and produces perfect liquid every time, it’s the to-go option for many amateurs in the coffee world, and it’s usually the first step of a connoisseur knowledge of coffee brewing methods.

It takes up to 5 minutes to produce each batch. Depending on the size, it can yield up to 5 cups of coffee, but the brew will be soft compared to an espresso shot. The best thing about it is that’s portable, and can ensure a close-to flavor to the other potent flavors of coffee brew methods.

French Press

This is one of the most basic home methods to brew. Just pour hot water, the right grind of coffee beans and you’ll get a uniquely flavored coffee. While it looks quite complicated, French presses are easy to use, and are almost inexpensive. It generates little sediments, so beware of that.

It takes up to 10 minutes to make, but it’s worth the try for a good home-made coffee. You’ll need to follow the basic instructions to a T, but for a low price and with little to none previous skill set needed, this is a great option to start in the coffee world.

What are you waiting to try the most common coffee brewing methods? Each one of these produce a special flavor in the coffee cups, and while most of them require skill set, these can be acquired through practice. But the one thing all these methods have in common is the use of quality coffee such as the one offered by Coffland Corp. Grinding: The Different Kinds

Make sure to have the right grinding for your preferred coffee preparation method.

If you’ve ever seen coffee being prepared in professional stores, you know that there are different methods to fabricate those amazing cups you later drink. Cold brew, French Press, Chemex, Espresso, Turkish and many other methods are used to brew coffee. For each one of them, the ground grains need to fit accurately to provide the best flavors. The reason for this is that the exposed surface per grain in contact with the water will impact on the reaction that it has, as well as determining the potential sediment, thus creating stronger or weaker brews. Each of these requires a particular level of grinding to provide you, the coffee lover, with the right flavor. Today, you’re going to learn them all!

The contact surface and the pressure applied into the grind are what generate the flavors in the coffee cups you drink. It’s common knowledge that some methods create stronger brews (espresso machines over Chemex, for example). Alto, this is in direct relationship with the time coffee spends in contact with water, as well as the coarseness of the grind. Make sure you are using the right one for your preferred method with this handy list.

Extra Fine Grind: Normally used for Turkish coffee, this is a fine sand consistency grind. It’s one of the most traditional methods in the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries, although it can be found in select coffee shops near you.

Fine Grind: This one is made especially for espresso machines. The burr grinder often comes paired up with the espresso machine and attuned to its filter size to ensure the least possible sediment per cup. As the filter is pretty small, it’s advised not to use this grind with other methods.

Medium-fine Grind: Coffee drippers, vacuum pots, and siphon brewers are the methods required by this grind. It’s frequent to see it in professional establishments. Experts or trained people are needed to work with it, as they must be pretty quick (2.5 to 3 minutes to make the brews).

Extra coarse grind: Coffee made with these grind requires more time in contact with water to produce flavors. It’s almost exclusive limited to cold brewing methods, which put the coffee grind in water for the space of hours. Cold brew, French press, and cupping are the methods that implement this grind.

Medium grind: This is the presentation used for Chemex and Solo brewers, along with other frequent homebound methods of brewing. It requires up to 6 minutes of contact with water and coffee to produce the best cups.

Have you ever seen any of these methods used in the past? Do you want to try each one of them? You can go to specialized stores that showcase these unique methods just for you! In most of them, you’ll find that the coffee methods and grinds often are just part of what makes a cup unique, as the beans play a vital role. For that reason, to produce the best blends that will be ground to perfection, find places that work with Coffland Corp, to make each cup a fabulous experience. 7 Tips to Make Perfect Coffee

One of the things you need to do is learn how to work with the machine.

Perfect coffee cups are the thing that all businesses are after. These cups often generate more than just money, as they manage to create fidelity. With the modern market being dominated by people that are passionate and faithful to the offers they get for perfect products, it’s no wonder why they are so adamant to get them on board with their brand. This generates business opportunities and, more than that; they generate trampolines to reach their desired goals. But how do companies and small business create perfect coffee cups? This is your opportunity to learn it all!

The first thing you need to learn is that most of these pieces of advice are applied almost exclusively to the espresso area. They need to be changed just a bit to fit the needs of other preparation methods. But don’t worry, once you know the basics, these small changes will be simple to make. So, read along!

Use fresh coffee beans: The first mistake people make when making perfect coffee cups is to use the traditional packed coffee. While some preservation methods help you get the right flavor on packed ground coffee, the fact is that they really taste different than fresh-grounded beans. Invest in a grinding machine to garner all that flavor.

Pack beans safely: One of the mistakes people make when buying and storing coffee beans is to do it carelessly. They are incredibly porous once roasted, and this means that they will surely pick up almost any flavor surrounding them. Freezing them is not optional either, for that same reason. Store them in airtight containers.

Distribute the coffee in portions: While espresso machines distribute the contents of each cup, you need to know the right measures to reach a perfect cup. 25g of coffee per 350g of water make a perfect mug and, ideally, you need to use that portion to make every cup, minus the milk or cream that you’ll add to make different coffee servings.

Serve correctly: Coffee temperature is what makes it appealing to most people. The cups need to be slightly warm, as they will peak in temperature once the liquid is poured in. Ideally, they need to be kept over the espresso machine, looking up, to ensure that the rim will be cold in contrast to the warm bottom.

Use filtered water: Using the right beans can make a great cup, and water also plays a key role. Using water with chlorine, or other chemical additives can change the flavor of your cups. Minerals are also good for your coffee! Use clear and filtered water without additives, and you’ll always have perfect flavors.

Check the temperature: Coffee can not, by any means, boil. Make sure to check the temperature to avoid reaching over 205°, as this will spoil the flavor and can potentially turn your cups into something toxic. Although it's not common knowledge, boiled coffee is very bad, not only in taste, but it's also packed with dangerous chemicals formed through the boiling process. While not fatal, it’s indeed harmful.

Use items just for coffee: Coffee absorbs flavors very quickly, even in its liquid state. As it’s normally presented warm, this effect is potentiated. The flavor transferral can turn even the most luscious cup into something horrible for people tasting it. Avoid mixing your coffee elements with other flavors, and make sure to keep them clean and ready to use for your cups.

With these tips, the success in your coffee making venture is almost guaranteed. But do you know what will make your customers love every perfect cup that comes off your store? The flavor! For that reason, you need to work with professionals like the ones on Coffland Corp, as they can create perfect and unique blends for you! How Coffee Helps the Digestive System

Besides the morning boost coffee gives us, it can help us after we had a meal.
For years, coffee has been a trusty companion for meals. Whether consumed when you feel particularly full or to spend more time with someone you like, coffee is almost a constant in most after-meal chats. Some people even get together in a coffee shop to enjoy some pastries and a smoking cup. Why have we related this industry with after meals, and why is there a unique relationship between a healthy digestion and coffee? The secret is simple. In fact, coffee is great for your tummy! But, why and how? That’s what we’re going to talk about today.

Yes, your stomach gets a kick after you drink coffee. And there’s a good reason behind this. A significant percentage of people consume their coffee hot, and as you surely know, these cups are packed with caffeine. The former always cause a rumble, as the liquids and meals consumed with a temperature superior to the body’s physiological (37.5°C) always make your intestines to move and work. A variety of factors causes this sudden increase in activity: the rise in temperature forces your body to lower it to one that does not affect the rest of the body, and this increases the intestinal movements, improving the digestion.

You know another thing that has that same stimulant effect? Caffeine! As you surely know, this component is a powerful nervous stimulant, and the “up and running” feeling it generates in your brain, right after your steaming cup, is strongly related to the way your tummy reacts to it. The peristaltic movements (the ones that help meals pass from one part of the intestines to the other) are potentiated by the consumption of coffee, helping you digest everything better. This, however, does not mean that you need to drink extra liquids. Caffeine is also a diuretic and a potent detox chemical, and while it helps your body get rid of some toxins, it can dehydrate you.

However, this does not mean you should rally in a binge consumption of coffee: everything has a measure. A small cup after your meals should be enough to reap the benefits, without turning it into a problem. The excessive consumption of coffee can be detrimental to your health too, as the excess of caffeine and the diuretic effects can cause stomach disturbance. And you only want to have the benefits!

Meals and coffee have been combined for quite some time now. Now you know how coffee improves your digestive processes, added to its fantastic taste, you’ll probably want it in every aspect of your life.

The Uses of Coffee in the Cuisine

Besides being world's favorite morning beverage, coffee can be used in tons of dishes.

Coffee is not only a hot, delicious drink for when you need a little pick-me-up on a cold afternoon. As you surely know, many coffee shops and stores offer more than just your steaming cup; they pair it along with desserts and other preparations infused with the flavors of coffee beans. In the case you didn't know, the cuisine is firmly influenced by the flavors that coffee provides, so today I’m going to list how the coffee is used in cooking!

The flavor of coffee can be overpowering, and chefs know exactly how to make the richness of its particular taste an accent for their preparations. This does not mean that some plates cannot have coffee as its main flavor, especially since what makes cuisine so unique is the ability to incorporate different characteristics into the same dish. For them, knowing how to use the various ways in which coffee can enhance the cuisine experience, it’s a well-harnessed talent. They manage to turn it into a dessert and even use it in spicy and salty meals.

Desserts benefit from infusions of flavors. How? Any necessary preparation can become into something unique with a bit of creativity. For instance, a dense but silky cheesecake can turn into a delicious dish with the help of a soft coffee buttercream, made with a small dollop of a strong brewed coffee, maybe your favorite specialty espresso. You can even add the distinctive flavor in the cheesecake mix itself, and decorate it with chocolate covered coffee beans. This little trick will add the extra that will transform the whole dish into a specialty!

Coffee can also become something special in a cold presentation: frozen cubes of espresso turned into a milkshake with thick cream, served in a tall glass cup with chantilly cream and a cherry on top. This recipe will surely be a head turner for your business. If you combine coffee with different flavors for the basic espresso, you'll have an infinite amount of combinations.

Coffee also pairs well with salty dishes. Believe it or not, grounded beans along with spices can create the perfect flavor for beef, as coffee complements the flavor for red meat. Pork is one of the best meats to infuse with coffee, and you can even marinate it with a sauce made with an Americano coffee cup. This will give it an excellent flavor and a glossy finish after your roast it to perfection. You can even make a reduction or add it to a barbecue sauce, to transform it into a whole different experience from your traditional BBQ. You can also deglaze any bread with soft coffee, creating a whole different level of flavor for your dish.

To make these preparations, you only need three things: talent at combining flavors, creativity, and amazing coffee. The first two are inherent to you or your business, and the last one, it’s the one where Coffland Corp can transform your life. They offer special presentations for your particular needs. They are a roaster that specializes in creating unique flavors in the shape of private labels for your business. Use coffee in your dishes and create unique and delicious presentations with the help of a company that will transform the way you experience and work with coffee!

Cakes, ice creams, sauces and many other tasty dishes can have coffee to enhance their tastes.

Colombia and its Deep Relationship with Coffee

Since its introduction, coffee has become one of Colombia's leading exports.

This South American nation has been known for many reasons over the past decades: its incredible touristic appeal, the richness of its cultural heritage and even its impact on Latin American music. But what makes Colombia known around the world are the hands of the workers that help create one of the top rated products in the world: Colombian coffee.

For years, this product has been an important economic asset for the country and has become part of its heritage. All helped by the expert care they have given as a nation to preserve and upgrade the flavor - style duo that characterizes the Colombian cups of coffee. But when did this start? Today you are going to learn about Colombia’s deep relationship with coffee.

Although it’s quite hard to pinpoint where this tradition over coffee started, it’s safe to say that it has been part of the Colombian culture for quite some time. The first records indicate that coffee possibly arrived through the Jesuit monks. Its history as an export product in this South American nation starts as late as 1860. And ever since, the qualities of the beans harvested in Colombia has been instrumental in its worldwide success.

The coffee has been one of the main exportation products in the country, and the families and areas where it’s produced make the most out of it. This industry has a significant number of Colombian citizens among its workforce, thus, creating business opportunities. The economy and stability of the country are based on the exportation of several products. The coffee is among them.

Its success does not only affects the economy positively, but also relates directly to the job employment opportunities: almost 1 million job posts are directly related to the coffee industry in the fields and a rough 4 million with activities related to its industrial processing. Beyond that, its impact on the overall economy of the productive sector is unique. Any proof? Over 1.6 million jobs relate indirectly to the distribution chain of the product in the country.

This industry also has a cultural impact: for Colombia, coffee exportation has become a symbol. It’s showcased in movies, videos and even certain forms of publicity, in which the flavor of a good cup of coffee relates to the country. This makes Colombia a touristic asset, as people want to experience the real taste of the land that produces it. It means that the coffee plantation and distribution does not only offers economic opportunities but an open door for tourists. This also transforms it into heritage, turning a farming product into an asset that can be worked in the shape of events, such as the Coffee Fair.

All this drives Coffland Corp to offer you the richness of Colombian coffee in combination with the characteristics of other beans across the globe. All to bring you a perfect product. For Coffland Corp, this is one of its most important markets, and they want to bring you the best coffee from Colombia right to your business in the shape of blends and products for your private label.
