Coffee Science: How to Combine Flavor Profiles

Use unusual flavors and be creative with your coffee cup.
Every coffee lover knows that drinking this beverage is a pleasant experience. But, half of them also enjoy the encounter of making their coffee cup. This process is very simple when you have an espresso machine, and you're worried only about the rushed morning routine.

However, there are more than just one way to make a delicious coffee cup that stimulates your palate. Without being a professional barista, you can experiment with other ingredients, and the process doesn't need too much effort but changes your coffee experience completely.

According to some coffee professionals, making a coffee cup is not that simple. These beans are very delicate, and if you ground them without delicacy or you keep the grounded coffee in poor conditions, the final product (your coffee drink) will taste differently.

Considering the importance of retaining suitably the grounded coffee, an excellent way to add some flavor to your coffee is by mixing it with other spices. Once you ground the coffee, put it in a jar far away from light and heat, then you can introduce a little bit of cinnamon, vanilla sticks or nutmeg. Remember: your election will influence your drink's taste, resting the great traditional flavor, making it sweeter.

Another way to experiment with coffee science is grounding your beans with other spices like pepper, cardamom or hazelnut. If you want to add any variety of nut, you have to brew it before put it with the coffee beans. That way it will conserve their smell, and it will blend more equally with coffee.

If you don't have a ground at home, you can personalize your coffee cup by preparing your espresso adding spices of your choice directly to your mug. You can sprinkle a little bit of grounded chocolate, mix coffee with vanilla extract or even a pinch of grated orange. For those who are fans of sweetness, adding cane honey or maple syrup will change their coffee routine completely!

As you can see, creating a coffee cup is not a scientific challenge. Mixing spices and other ingredients can turn you into a professional coffee chemist! Just be creative and follow these examples of great combinations for your mornings’ favorite drink.
