Learn more about why Colombian coffee is known for its rich, mild flavor, and well-balanced coffee beans!

Globalization

Best Colombian coffee mainly ends up as an exported product, and this occurs because globalization is changing the game. Colombian entrepreneurs and foreign investors are upping the quality of domestic coffee roasting and brewing to increase its popularity.

Arabica exclusive

Arabica beans are the most preferred type, and Colombia is one of the only countries that exclusively grows them. This kind of seed contains half the caffeine of robusta and has a softer, sweeter taste.

Geography

Geography is a key factor. Colombia’s coffee growing region is generally between the cities of Cali, MedellĂn, and Bogotá, which are all located in high altitudes. The crops also grow in volcanic soil from the Andes mountains, which creates a perfect environment. As an addition, Colombia is in the famous Bean Belt or Colombian Coffee Triangle, a unique place in the world where there is a tropical climate with rainy and dry seasons.

The way it is produced

There are 570.000 small coffee farms in Colombia that apply unique farming techniques to maintain their product as high quality as possible. Almost every bean is hand-picked from small-hold coffee farms. Experts consider that the level of care and attention is what makes it so good. Also, cultural influence intensifies the love surrounding the warm beverage and explains why Colombian farmers are so willing to do their very best. Although they use some machinery, they still put into practice ancestral methods.

Fair trade policies

As if the previous reasons were not good enough, 100% of Colombian coffee, especially the one we provide in Coffland Corp, is produced by strict fair trade policies. These practices exist to ensure the farmers that the hard work they do is valuable, and to make sure coffee production is sustainable for livelihood and kind to the environment.
